If you look around the target cut outs near the jet bumper area you can see where I am cutting into yet another layer of clear.I don't think I have ever seen this much on a playfield.

If you look to the right of the special insert you will see  more indicators of  multi layers being cut through in this leveling process.

I have shaved this down  for  quite a while now  using various grits and  even with that effort there is still a drop off mounding into the switch cut outs.

Matching  this wood tone is a fine art.It  needs to be  transparent enough not to  bury the  natural grain but  cover well enough to  cover the black.Opposites of each other really.Also  these repro playfields use a  unusual wood as compared to the  factory ones I have already perfected matches and transparencies for. Moving from  right to left you can see the  many  mixes needed to get  at least in the ball park.
